I was tagged by my Aunty to list the ten books that have stayed with me throughout my life. I haven’t lived very much life yet, but I’ll give it a go!…

1. Waiting For Anya, Michael Murpurgo
(It could have been any Murpurgo- this was just the one which I read over and over during my childhood.)

2. Little Women, Louisa May Alcott
(Made me proud to be a girl. Also, Marmee is my hero.)

3. A Thousand Splendid Suns, Khaled Hosseni
(In my opinion: better than ‘Kite Runner’.)

4. A Bear Called Paddington, Michael Bond
(Still one of the funniest books ever.)

5. The Book Thief, Markus Zusack
(Exquisite.)

6. The Magician’s Nephew, C.S Lewis
(The Narnia Chronicles represent so much of my childhood. I still love to read them.)

7. New Selected Poems, Seamus Heaney
(Earthy, Celtic, no messing. Complex yet earnest. First collection of poems that made me go ‘wow’.)

8. Jamaica Inn, Daphne Du Maurier
(Although my Dad ruined the twist for me, I still loved this. One of those ‘wish I could do that’ books.)

9. The Dovekeepers, Alice Hoffman
(Her style was new to me, but so poignant.)

10. Perfect, Rachel Joyce
(Just lovely.)

P.S let me know in the comments if you did this tag too!!
