The Fox

The fox has black legs,

Stolen from capsized beetles,

Found floating in puddles.

The fox has a teasel tail,

And it hangs it about its neck

When it has Occasions to attend,

Or when the road is muddy.

The fox has round eyes,

Very round eyes;

Conkers, (or if they are poor foxes; chestnuts,

Which are smaller and not as hard, and therefore cheaper).

The fox

Is an incomplete animal,

Always hurrying away,

Collecting themselves in the dusk.
